Ivars Heinrihsons born 1945
Lives and works in Riga
Over the years the grand piano, horses or ballet served Ivars Heinrihsons as metaphoric starting points for form and its expression. The structure within the form of his horses and grand pianos often reminds us of a chain reaction with little explosions at each junction of the lines, out of which all the single parts of the whole form seem to change there direction rapidly over and over again until the culmination of expression is reached. Often his oeuvre would be described as composure of form. Prof. Ivars Heinrihsons is a head of the Painting department at the Riga Academy of Fine Arts.
